Phoenix by Night

Since I haven't been hosting as much, I'm wondering if we want to do a sort of "character roleplay" like is done already, but to work as "filler" between when I host.

For example:
[James will try to intimidate and bribe the local police into being allies with the pack]

or just holding conversations between players/npcs:
James says, "Hey Bob, how's that underground arena going?"

As short or as long as everyone likes..

Go for it, I'll check back and respond as NPCs, or ST, and let you know. The effects of what you do in this thread will directly effect the game the next time I host.

Consider it declaring actions ":will try to ____" or "will attempt to ___" etc.

And post the stats you're using for the action. Just guess at what stats make sense.

For example:
James is trying to convince the Mayor to tear up an old parking lot so the local gangrel have open soil to rest in. [Manipulation 3 + Empathy 2]

I won't be rolling anything, so no need to use dice.

Fully healed the next night, Hector goes out alone using Obfuscate, and will attempt to track down a gundealer (preferably a shady one).

[In your search, you hear Jeff Yusef's name brought up a lot, you remember him from the Yellow Jacket bar where the Vaulderie took place. Jeff greets you with a wide car-salesman grin when you enter the bar]

Hector doesn't smile back at Jeff, replying,

"i didn't come here to shop jeff, i need some info. One of our packmembers is being harrassed by the Giovanni and i need to figure out where their HQ in town is. Any idea where they are?"

Dom wakes up the following night and turns his face towards hectors bed, realizing that hector isn't there, he walks of into the night to grab a snack. [perc]

DOM:
[After a bit of searching, and puking from trying to drink fake redheads, you succeed]

HECTOR:
Jeff says, "Right, hey, relax man. Only thing I've heard is that some of the higher-ups have it on their 'to-do' list, running the Gios out of town I mean. I haven't seen shit myself. You need anything else?"

"no that is all thank you"

Upon sitting on the chair I stare open at the window for a moment. I notice Hector head out, I shake my head slightly as he does. I look over at the window for a moment then text a few people...
I look up at the door as time drifts, I then slowly pick up my coat and head outside slowly walking down the steps.
I tie up my hair placing the coat quickly over my head as I head out.

Bryan awakes screaming, but can't remember the dream. No one else shared whatever it was

I look over at Bryan, Bryan you ok? I look down at him for a moment. Manahs mind seems to be somewhere else at this moment as if something or someone is on her mind, although she is good at hiding this feeling inside, Bryan manages to notice it. Manah smiles and asks again as Bryan caims down "You are alright, Bryan?" She closes her eyes for a moment then opens them again they catch upon the moonlight lighting them up like fire-flies she then steps back away from Bryan nodding to him slightly .

After Bryan replies to her she seems happier now as if something in her mind has gone away although she still seems to be rather silent she looks over at Dom and Hector across the street then smiles before turning back to Bryan
"I'm going for a walk, tell them I'll be back ok?"
Before Bryan can reply I head down into the subway and wait for the train to arrive... Time seems to drift by before the train arrives...
Taking a seat manah is silent looking down at her sword then back up at her sword. She appears to be showing sighs of distress maybe a memory is haunting her. She manages to keep control and slowly gets off of the train as it stops, she heads back to the surface.

She continues to talk down town until she stops at an old house she stops...
The house appears to be old tatty and worn. Frank must be here... She says softly. She knocks.

Upon the floor she notices a few stakes and old papers, some of which re-strain to as "lady Kazi"

Alain is walking down the street, a cigarette sticking out of his mouth and a pair of expensive sunglasses on his face. Looking down he sends a text to Manah ''So ive decided, im getting the hell out of town, the Sabbatt round ere are way too wanked up for me, so im heading off back to Nice, my regards sister, might see you around some night, Alain''

Looking up with a grin, he carries on down the street to where he has arranged to meet up with a contact of his, who will help smuggle him onto a container ship and out of the country.

Before Manah is about to enter her phon bleeps she quickly looks down at it then smiles, she replies back
"aww, alright Alain, hey why don't we meet up for a coffee or something"

As Manah sends the text she slowly walks into the building, the door seems to be open, old and rusty. In the dark room ahead she seems to see someone standing in the far corner holding a shotgun Manah waits. After a brief moment The lights flicker on showing the man clealy. He appeared to be mortal, very posh cloths and a slight grin on his face as he pointed the gun at Manah. Manah did nothing at the point.
After a few moments od idleness the man finally spoke.
"Names Frank, whats up?"
Manah nodded
"Manah, I'm looking for someone" She said slowly muttering the last few lines
"K..azi.."
Manah spoke softly
Frank just stared eyes wide...

Alain awakes from his muddy sleep, by a roadside 17 miles outside of his destination, Nice, france. After getting dusted down and dressed he checks his phone, he has a text. After a grin and ''aww she misses me already, good luck sister'' he then throws his phone off into the night, turns and heads down the road.

Alain is gone from Phoenix, not to return

Frank continues to stare, all is silent...
Moments pass before Frank finally speaks
"Who the fuck are you? How do you know Kazi!?"
Manah paused for a moment
"She was... my friend, I want you to say I'm sorry for letting her down"
Frank walked closer holding the shotgun towards her head still Manah was alert, ready to move but she waited she knew Frank was angry at her.
"She died because of the Sabbat, they...shot her in the back, some bastard by the name Lysander.."
Manah said nothing
"Vampire like you, you'll all scum, even that fucker Auron.."
Frank continued...
"I live for nothing now my girl is dead, do me a favour and leave"
Manah nodded, Frank seemed to be deeply dressed and not like the subject of Kazi. Manah turned for the door.
"Kazi and I, our friendship... After highschool the day I saved her from "him" I had to leave, but I didn't want this to happen nor did i want her to become a slayer. I'm sorry for what happend Frank"
Before Frank could speak Manah just left. She slowly started to head back towards the streets back to the Sabbat HQ taking out her notebook she began to write a letter.


"My true purpose is not here in the sabbat. I have much I need to do and many people I need to see. I hope you all understand that I must move on. Goodbye my friends.

Manah placed the letter on the door before quickly heading out, she heads for the woods for some unkown reason she is gone...

Manah sits silently on the bed in her room in Tokyo gazing out at the window. There is a knock on her door.
"Come in"
A tall thin like man walks into the room.
"Just came to see your alright Manah, you've been awfully silent. What's on your mind?"
Manah looks away from the window
"I've been thinking, maybe it would be best I went back to phoenix. After all I did seem to 'fit in' more over there, never was a true sabbat though. I just can't kill. Not unless I have a reason for doing so. A valid reason, that is what makes me a poor Assamite."
The man smiles
"Are you sure about this Manah? I mean going all the way back there? After what happend with Kurt? And anyway I thought you were happy here, arn't you?"
Manah pauses
"Phoenix just seemed....More, I don't know how to explain it. I'm not going back to the Sabbat, I don't think I could go back"
The man slowly walks over to Manah
"I know that look"
"What look?" Manah replies
"That one, your worried about something, what is it?"
Manah slowly looks away from the Man
"is it that easy to read me?" Manah says
He laughs
"10 years, Manah 10 years we've known each other, I know you too well. So what is on your mind?"
"Do you remember the day, John gave me that sword?" Manah asks
"Aye, what of it?"
"...It was the day that the fire broke lose near the old Assamite hideout, remember?"
The man looks slightly angered at this thought
"How can I forget!? That fucking Baali killed everyone in sight"
"Yes, John said. before he left to see where Auron went. He said, 'Manah, I don't know how to say this. But I want you to take this sword. It holds the answers to that night. If I die I want you to find out what happend"
I think, the guy who made this sword is actually in Phoenix, that Baali is still out there. That is what is worrying me, you KNOW how powerful he was" Manah ask the man rather bluntly.
"I'm going back to Phoenix, I just know that this Baali will attack any time soon, he wants me, I know he does. I'm leaving tomorow , you can't stop me."
Manah rushes for the exit, the man follows shortly after.
"woah there! You are not going anywhere without me sweetheart. I'm not letting you go out there and get yourself killed"
Manah just nodded...

[Cool, thanks for posting just fyi it's still up in the air if old characters will be allowed back but that does seem the popular option!]

well, if old characters who were allowed to have 4 or 5 in a trait are allowed i think you should allow it for new chars as well.

It's not all about fighting and been the most powerful. It's about RP and fun. Like shadow said before. Some players will be stronger than others, others weaker. It isn't about been the strongest.

I am playing Manah again because I really enjoyed playing her out. Also I don't really feel inspired enough to make another toon atm. So this is the best option for me.))


Last note, this is an RP form, so lets keep these comments to a min.

[This should probably just be moved to my other thread. I didn't really allow 5 in stats for old characters either. But they have all gained a ton of xp and diableries so I'm sure some have 4-5 now if they didn't before.]
